VOCABULARY #5

1.) Architecture(Noun)- The art or practice of designing and constructing buildings: My uncle was one of the architects who participated in creating the architecture that was used to create the mall.
2.) Practicum(Noun)- A practical section of the course of study: I did not understand the practicum that was presented to us today in calculus.
3.) Candidates(Noun)- A person who applies for a job or is nominated for election: Candidates applying for this position should be computer-literate.
4.) Supervision(Noun)- The action of supervising someone or something: Students were under the supervision of the faculty member at all times.
5.) Significant(Adjective)- Sufficiently great or important to be worthy of attention;  noteworthy: A significant increase in sales.
6.) Lucrative(Adjective)- Producing a great deal of profit: A lucrative career as a stand-up comedian.
7.) Landscape(Noun)- All the visible features of an area of countryside or and, often considered in terms of their aesthetic appeal: The giant cacti that dominate this landscape.
8.) Licensure(Noun)- The granting or regulations of licenses, as for professionals: Licensure of respiratory therapists.
9.) Jurisdiction(Noun)- The official power to make legal decisions and judgements: Federal courts had no jurisdiction over the case.
10.) Apprentice(Noun)- A person who is learning a trade from a skilled employer, having agreed to work for a fixed period at low wages: He was an apprentice electrician.
11.) Technical(Adjective)- Of or relating to a particular subject, art, or craft, or its techniques: Technical terms are a good way to test an artists technical skills.
12.) Budgeting(Noun)- An estimate of income and expenditure for a set period of time: Keep within the household budget.
13.) Department(Noun)- A division of a large organization such as a government, university, business, or shop, dealing with a specific subject, commodity, or area of activity: I amthe head of the English department.
14.) Complexity(Noun)- The state or equality of being intricate or complicated: An issue of great complexity is horrible.
15.) Globalization(Verb)- Development or be developed so as to make possible international influence or operation: Communication globalizes capital markets.
16.) Salaries(Noun)- A fixed regular payment, typically paid on a monthly or biweekly basis but often expressed as an annual sum, made by an employer to an employee: He received a salary of 30,000.
17.) Services(Noun)- The action of helping or doing work for someone: Millions are involved in military services.
18.) Nomination(Noun)- The action of nominating or state of being nominated, chosen: Women's groups opposed the nomination of the judge.
19.) Designer(Noun)- A person who plans the form, look, or workings of something before it's being made or built, typically by drawing it in detail: He's one of the world's leading car designers.
20.) Planner(Noun)- A person who makes plans or controls urben development: My mother is a cityt planner.
